Supported payment flows

This article explains the types of transactions you can initiate on Dakota Platform — what moves where, in which direction, and what combinations are supported.

Dakota supports four transaction types: on-ramps, off-ramps, one-time transfers, and stablecoin swaps. Each handles a distinct flow between fiat (USD) and stablecoins.

On-ramp: USD → Stablecoin

Send USD via bank transfer and receive stablecoins in a wallet.

Supported inputs (source): ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT
Supported outputs (destination): DKUSD (Base only), USDC, USDT
Destination networks: Base, Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Solana, Avalanche

Example: A customer sends USD via ACH and receives USDC on Base in their wallet.

Off-ramp: Stablecoin → USD

Convert stablecoins and send USD to a bank account.

Supported inputs (source): DKUSD (Base only), USDC, USDT
Supported outputs (destination): ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT (all pay out in USD)

Example: A customer sends USDC on Ethereum, and USD is wired to their bank via Fedwire.

One-Time Transfer: Stablecoin → USD (single use)

Same flow as an off-ramp, but the deposit instructions are single-use. Useful when you need a one-time payment route rather than a standing instruction.

Supported inputs: DKUSD, USDC, USDT
Supported outputs: ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT (USD)

Stablecoin Swap: Stablecoin → Stablecoin

Convert between supported stablecoins and/or networks — no fiat involved. Here are the supported blockchains.

Example: A customer deposits USDC on Base and receives USDT on Ethereum.

What's not supported

USD → USD: Dakota does not support fiat-to-fiat transfers. All transactions involve at least one stablecoin leg.
Stablecoin → Stablecoin (unsupported asset or network): Only the pairs listed above are available. For example, swapping USDC on Ethereum to DAI is not currently supported.
DKUSD outside Dakota: DKUSD cannot be sent to external wallets. It can only be swapped for USDC/USDT or off-ramped to USD.
TRON (USDT): TRON support is on the roadmap but not yet available.
